Summary

CVE-2024-24816 is a newly discovered cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting versions of CKEditor4 prior to 4.24.0-lts. This open-source HTML editor is used in samples that incorporate the `preview` feature, posing a risk to integrators who use these samples in production environments. By exploiting this misconfigured preview function, attackers can execute malicious JavaScript code, putting all users of the affected CKEditor 4 editions at risk. To mitigate this issue, users are advised to upgrade to CKEditor 4.24.0-lts, where a fix for this vulnerability has been implemented.
