Details
Summary
CVE-2024-23825 is a vulnerability affecting the TablePress plugin for WordPress. This plugin is used to create and manage tables within the platform. The issue lies in the plugin's import functionality, which allows users to input URLs for importing tables. Insufficient filtering of user input enables attackers to make unintended HTTP requests, potentially reaching the metadata REST API of cloud environments like AWS. If an instance's configuration is insecure, this could lead to the exposure of sensitive internal data, including credentials. This vulnerability has been addressed in version 2.2.5.
