Summary

CVE-2024-23744 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting Mbed TLS 3.5.1. This issue permits a persistent handshake denial when a client sends a TLS 1.3 ClientHello message without extensions, preventing successful establishment of secure connections. The server continues to attempt handshakes, leading to potential denial-of-service (DoS) consequences. Attackers can exploit this to disrupt services and limit access for legitimate users. Implementing the latest version of Mbed TLS or applying the appropriate patch is recommended to mitigate this vulnerability.
