Summary

CVE-2024-23635 is a vulnerability affecting the AntiSamy library, used for sanitizing HTML from untrusted sources. Prior to version 1.7.5, AntiSamy contained a mXSS (mutation Cross-Site Scripting) vulnerability due to flawed comment tag handling. This issue arises when the `preserveComments` directive is enabled in the policy file, enabling certain malicious inputs to be interpreted as executable code within comment tags when using AntiSamy's sanitized output. The vulnerability has been patched in AntiSamy 1.7.5 and later.
