Summary
CVE-2024-23605 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the GGUF library in llama.cpp, specifically the header.n_kv functionality within the file. The issue involves a heap-based buffer overflow, which can be triggered by a maliciously crafted .gguf file. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code if a vulnerable application processes such a file.
