Summary

CVE-2024-2333 is a vulnerability affecting the LDAP Account Manager (LAM) prior to version 8.7. The issue lies in the log configuration, which permits specifying arbitrary log file paths. An attacker can create a PHP file and manipulate LAM to log this code into the file. Subsequent access to the file via the webserver executes the code. To exploit this vulnerability, an attacker requires LAM's master configuration password and write access to a web-accessible directory. No such directories are provided by LAM itself. The issue has been resolved in version 8.7, and as a workaround, access to LAM configuration pages should be restricted to authorized users.
