Summary

CVE-2024-23301 is a vulnerability affecting Relax-and-Recover (ReaR) before version 2.7. This issue arises when GRUB_RESCUE is set to 'y', leading to the creation of a world-readable initrd. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability locally and gain access to system secrets, which are typically restricted to root users.
