Summary

CVE-2024-2252 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Droit Elementor Addons plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 3.1.5. The issue lies in insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes, particularly URLs, used in the plugin's widgets. This flaw enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts into pages, which will execute whenever a user visits an affected page. The vulnerability poses a significant threat, as an attacker could steal sensitive information or take control of the user's account. Users are advised to upgrade to the latest version of the plugin or disable the vulnerable widgets as a temporary solution.
