Summary
CVE-2024-22253 is a use-after-free vulnerability affecting VMware ESXi, Workstation, and Fusion. This issue lies in the UHCI USB controller and allows a local administrative user on a virtual machine to execute code as the VMX process running on the host. On ESXi, the exploitation occurs within the VMX sandbox, but on Workstation and Fusion, it could potentially result in code execution on the machine where the respective software is installed.
