Summary

CVE-2024-2182 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting the Open Virtual Network (OVN). In OVN clusters utilizing Bidirectional Forwarding Distance-Vector (BFD) protocol between hypervisors for high availability, an attacker can Send specially crafted BFD packets from unprivileged workloads, including virtual machines or containers, causing a denial-of-service (DoS) condition. The flaw poses a significant risk to network availability and requires immediate attention and patching from OVN users.
