Summary

CVE-2024-21643 is a vulnerability affecting IdentityModel Extensions for .NET, which are used by web developers to integrate federated identity providers. This issue stems from the `SignedHttpRequest` protocol and `SignedHttpRequestValidator`, where Microsoft.IdentityModel trusts the `jku` claim by default. malicious actors can exploit this trust to make unauthorized remote or local HTTP GET requests. To mitigate this risk, users are advised to upgrade their Microsoft.IdentityModel versions to 7.1.2 (for 7x) or higher, and 6.34.0 (for 6x) or higher.
