Summary

CVE-2024-21637 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting the open-source Identity Provider, Authentik. The issue lies in a reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) weakness in OpenID Connect flows using the `response_mode=form_post` setting. Malicious actors can exploit this flaw to inject and execute malicious scripts in users' browsers, potentially leading to privilege escalation. This vulnerability has been addressed in Authentik versions 2023.10.6 and 2023.8.6. Users are strongly advised to update their systems to mitigate the risk.
