Summary

CVE-2024-21512 is a vulnerability affecting versions of the mysql2 package prior to 3.9.8. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization in the handling of nestTables, allowing adversaries to inject malicious data and prototype pollute the application. As a result, an attacker could manipulate the application's behavior and gain unintended access to sensitive data or execute arbitrary code. Users are strongly advised to update their mysql2 packages to mitigate this risk.
