Summary

CVE-2024-21498 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting all versions of the package github.com/greenpau/caddy-security. This issue permits Server-side Request Forgery (SSRF) attacks via manipulation of the X-Forwarded-Host header. An attacker can leverage this vulnerability to expose sensitive information, interact with internal services, or potentially exploit other vulnerabilities residing within the targeted network. The X-Forwarded-Host header is a common header used in reverse proxy configurations, making this vulnerability particularly widespread and concerning. It is strongly recommended that users of the caddy-security package apply the available patch as soon as possible to mitigate the risk.
