Summary

CVE-2024-21320 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Windows systems. This issue allows an attacker to spoof themes, potentially tricking users into believing they are interacting with legitimate software. The vulnerability exists within the Windows Themes component, which manages the visual appearance of the operating system. An attacker could exploit this vulnerability by creating and installing a maliciously crafted theme. Once installed, the user may be deceived into thinking they are interacting with a trusted application, potentially leading to security threats such as phishing or data theft. Microsoft is currently working on a patch to address this vulnerability, and users are advised to apply it as soon as it becomes available to protect against potential attacks.
