Summary

CVE-2024-2128 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the EmbedPress plugin for WordPress. The issue exists in the plugin's embed widget, which fails to properly sanitize and escape user-supplied attributes. This vulnerability, present in all versions up to and including 3.9.10, enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions and above to inject malicious web scripts into pages. Once injected, these scripts will execute whenever an unsuspecting user accesses the compromised page.
