Summary

CVE-2024-2116 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Christmas Greetings plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.2.5 are susceptible to this issue. The problem stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the code parameter. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts, which are executed when an unsuspecting user performs a specific action, such as clicking a malicious link. This can lead to data theft, session hijacking, and other forms of unauthorized access.
