Summary
CVE-2024-20877 is a heap out-of-bound write vulnerability affecting libsavscmn.so, a component in SMR software prior to Jun-2024 Release 1. Maliciously crafted grid image headers can be exploited by local attackers to write arbitrary data beyond the allocated memory space. This vulnerability may result in code execution, potentially leading to serious system compromise. Users are strongly advised to upgrade to the latest software version to mitigate this risk.
