Summary

CVE-2024-20747 is a newly disclosed vulnerability affecting Adobe Acrobat Reader versions 20.005.30539 and 23.008.20470, and possibly older releases. This issue represents an out-of-bounds read vulnerability, which allows an attacker to read beyond valid memory boundaries. The consequences could be severe, as an adversary may gain unauthorized access to sensitive data. By exploiting this flaw, an attacker could potentially bypass Address Space Layout Randomization (ASLR), increasing the likelihood of successful attacks. User interaction is required, as the victim must open a specially crafted malicious file for the exploit to take effect.
