Summary

CVE-2024-20727 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that puts users of Acrobat Reader versions 20.005.30539, 23.008.20470, and older at risk. This issue is classified as an out-of-bounds write vulnerability, meaning that data is written beyond the intended memory boundaries. As a result, arbitrary code execution can occur in the current user's context. However, for an attack to be successful, the user must first open a specially crafted malicious file. This vulnerability poses a significant threat and requires affected users to update Acrobat Reader as soon as possible to mitigate potential risks.
