Summary
CVE-2024-20690 is a new vulnerability affecting Windows Nearby Sharing feature. Hackers can exploit this spoofing weakness to trick users into thinking that a malicious device is nearby and available for sharing. This can lead users to inadvertently connect to the attacker's device, potentially allowing unauthorized access to their system or sensitive information. Microsoft is working on a patch to address this issue, and users are advised to enable firewalls and ensure their systems are up-to-date to mitigate risk.
