Summary

CVE-2024-20686 is a newly disclosed Win32k Elevation of Privilege vulnerability. An attacker who successfully exploits this flaw can gain elevated system privileges on a Microsoft Windows system. The vulnerability exists within the Win32k component and could potentially allow an attacker to install programs, view, modify, or delete data, or create new accounts with administrative privileges. Microsoft is currently working on a patch to address this issue, and users are strongly encouraged to apply it as soon as it becomes available to protect their systems from potential exploitation.
