Summary

CVE-2024-2042 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the ElementsKit Elementor addons plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 3.0.5, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the Image Accordion widget. Successful exploitation results in the execution of arbitrary web scripts whenever a user accesses an injected page. This poses a significant risk to website security and integrity.
