Summary

CVE-2024-20405 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the web-based management interface of Cisco Finesse. This issue permits an unauthenticated, remote attacker to execute a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) attack, exploiting a related File Response (RFI) vulnerability. The vulnerability arises from insufficient input validation for specific HTTP requests, which can be triggered by persuading a user to click a crafted link. A successful exploit may allow the attacker to inject and execute arbitrary script code in the context of the affected interface, potentially gaining access to sensitive information on the targeted device.
