Summary

CVE-2024-20338 is a vulnerability affecting the ISE Posture (System Scan) module of Cisco Secure Client for Linux. It permits authenticated, local attackers to elevate privileges on susceptible devices. This issue arises due to an uncontrolled search path element, which can be exploited by an attacker by placing a malicious library file in a specific directory and persuading an administrator to restart a targeted process. A successful exploit results in the attacker gaining root privileges on the affected device.
