Summary

CVE-2024-20326 is a newly disclosed vulnerability that affects the ConfD CLI and Cisco Crosswork Network Services Orchestrator CLI. This issue permits an authenticated, low-privileged, local attacker to gain unrestricted file read and write access on the underlying operating system. The cause of this vulnerability is rooted in insufficient authorization checks for certain CLI commands. An attacker can leverage this flaw by executing a crafted command to manipulate files with root-level privileges. Successful exploitation could lead to serious security repercussions, such as data theft, unauthorized system modifications, or even system takeover.
