Summary

CVE-2024-20267 is a newly identified vulnerability affecting Cisco NX-OS Software. This issue stems from insufficient error checking when handling MPLS traffic, which could allow unauthenticated, remote attackers to cause the netstack process to unexpectedly restart. As a result, the targeted device may stop processing network traffic or reload. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by crafting an IPv6 packet and encapsulating it within an MPLS frame. This malicious packet can be generated and sent from multiple hops away from the targeted device. A successful exploit may result in a denial of service (DoS) condition.
