Summary

CVE-2024-20256 is a vulnerability affecting the web-based management interface of Cisco AsyncOS Software for Cisco Secure Email and Web Manager and Secure Web Appliance. This issue allows authenticated, remote attackers to execute cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks on users of the interface. The root cause of this vulnerability is insufficient input validation, enabling attackers to inject malicious scripts into the interface. successful exploitation could grant attackers the ability to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected interface or access sensitive browser-based information. Users are advised to update their software to mitigate this risk.
