Summary
CVE-2024-1996 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Premium Addons PRO plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 2.9.12 are at risk. attackers with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this issue by injecting malicious scripts into the plugin's IHover widget link. These scripts are executed whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk. The root cause is insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes.
