Summary

CVE-2024-1989: The Sassy Social Share plugin for WordPress, affected up to version 3.3.58, harbors a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability. Malicious actors with contributor-level access or higher can exploit this flaw by injecting web scripts into user-supplied 'url' attributes within the plugin's 'Sassy_Social_Share' shortcode. These scripts will execute when an unsuspecting user accesses the manipulated pages. This issue stems from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping, allowing attackers to store and subsequently execute their malicious code.
