Summary

CVE-2024-1872 is a vulnerability affecting the Button plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject a PHP Object via deserialization of untrusted input in the button_shortcode function. No Pop chain is present in the vulnerable plugin, but if one exists via an additional plugin or theme, the attacker could delete arbitrary files, retrieve sensitive data, or execute code. Impacted versions include all releases up to and including 1.1.28. Users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version to mitigate this risk.
