Summary

CVE-2024-1720 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the User Registration – Custom Registration Form, Login Form, and User Profile WordPress Plugin for WordPress.Versions up to and including 3.1.4 are impacted due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. An attacker can inject arbitrary web scripts into pages through the 'Display Name' parameter. This vulnerability requires social engineering to exploit, as the attacker needs a user to login with the injected payload for execution. The impact is limited as only the affected user's sessions would be at risk.
