Summary

CVE-2024-1653 is a vulnerability affecting the Categorify plugin for WordPress. This issue allows authenticated attackers with subscriber-level access or higher to bypass capability checks on the function 'categorifyAjaxUpdateFolderPosition'. As a result, attackers can manipulate the position of categories and update metadata for other taxonomies, leading to potentially unintended changes to the website's structure and data. Versions up to and including 1.0.7.4 are reportedly affected.
