Summary

CVE-2024-1642 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting the MainWP Dashboard plugin for WordPress, specifically versions up to and including 4.6.0.1. The issue lies in the 'posting_bulk' function, which lacks proper nonce validation. This vulnerability allows unauthenticated attackers to manipulate administrators into deleting arbitrary posts by tricking them into performing a malicious action, such as clicking on a link. The absence of adequate nonce validation on this function opens the door to potential data loss or other unintended consequences for affected WordPress sites.
