Details
Summary
CVE-2024-1590 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Pagelayer plugin for WordPress, versions up to and including 1.8.2. The Button Widget in this plugin is the source of the issue, which arises from inadequate input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. This vulnerability enables authenticated attackers with contributor-level access or higher to inject arbitrary web scripts, leading to the execution of malicious code whenever a user accesses an injected page. This could potentially result in unauthorized access to sensitive information, data theft, or site defacement. Users are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of the plugin as soon as possible to mitigate this threat.
