Summary

CVE-2024-1391 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Elementor Addon Elements plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the 'eae_custom_overlay_switcher' attribute of the Thumbnail Slider widget, which fails to properly sanitize and escape user input. This vulnerability allows authenticated attackers, with contributor-level access and above, to inject malicious scripts into pages. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, potentially leading to unintended actions, data theft, or unauthorized access. Version 1.12.12 and earlier of the plugin are reportedly affected.
