Summary

CVE-2024-1372 is a command injection vulnerability discovered in GitHub Enterprise Server. An attacker with an editor role in the Management Console could exploit this flaw to gain admin SSH access to the appliance while configuring SAML settings. This vulnerability posed a significant risk, as it required only controlled access to the GitHub Enterprise Server instance and the Management Console. Versions 3.11.5, 3.10.7, 3.9.10, and 3.8.15 have since been patched to mitigate the issue. The vulnerability was reported via GitHub's Bug Bounty program.
