Summary

CVE-2024-1362 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery vulnerability affecting the Colibri Page Builder plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 1.0.253 are susceptible to this issue. The root cause is the lack of proper nonce validation in the cp_shortcode_refresh() function, enabling unauthenticated attackers to execute arbitrary shortcodes. This can be exploited by tricking a site administrator into performing a specific action, such as clicking a malicious link. Attackers can potentially gain control over the affected WordPress site and perform harmful actions. It is recommended that WordPress users update to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this risk.
