Summary

CVE-2024-1170 is a vulnerability affecting the Post Form – Registration Form – Profile Form plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the handle\_deleted\_media function, which lacks necessary capability checks. As a result, unauthenticated attackers can exploit this vulnerability to delete arbitrary media files on affected WordPress sites, posing a significant risk to data integrity. Versions up to and including 2.8.7 are vulnerable to this unauthorized media file deletion. WordPress users are advised to update the plugin to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
