Summary

CVE-2024-1070 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 1.58.2, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the features attribute. Consequently, authenticated attackers with contributor access or higher can inject malicious web scripts that will be executed whenever a user accesses an injected page. This flaw poses a significant risk, as it can lead to unintended functionality, data theft, or even site takeover. Users are strongly advised to update to the latest version of the plugin to mitigate this danger.
