Summary

CVE-2024-1051 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the List category posts plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in versions up to 0.89.6, allows authenticated attackers with contributor-level access and above to inject malicious scripts. The vulnerability is due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied 'title_tag' attributes within the plugin's 'catlist' shortcode. When a user accesses a page with an injected 'title_tag', the malicious script is executed, posing a significant security risk.
