Summary

CVE-2024-1046 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Paid Membership Plugin, specifically the 'reg-number-field' shortcode, in WordPress versions up to 4.14.3. This issue arises due to insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes. Authenticated attackers with contributor-level or higher permissions can exploit this vulnerability by injecting arbitrary web scripts. These scripts will execute whenever a user accesses an injected page, posing a significant security risk.
