Summary

CVE-2024-0977 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Timeline Widget For Elementor plugin for WordPress. Versions up to 1.5.3 of this plugin are impacted, allowing authenticated attackers with contributor-level permissions or higher to inject malicious scripts into image URLs used in the plugin's timeline widget. These scripts will execute when an injected page is accessed, and whenever the slideshow type is changed and then reset to an image. The vulnerability results from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping on user-supplied attributes.
