Summary

CVE-2024-0830 is a Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability affecting the Comments Extra Fields For Post, Pages and CPT plugin for WordPress. Versions up to and including 5.0 are vulnerable to this issue. The weakness lies in the lack of or incorrect nonce validation on several AJAX actions, which allows unauthenticated attackers to invoke these actions via a forged request. By tricking a site administrator into completing an action like clicking on a malicious link, attackers can modify comment form fields and update plugin settings.
