Summary

CVE-2024-0821 is a Reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the Cost & Profit Calculator plugin for WooCommerce on WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 3.2.8, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping. Consequently, unauthenticated attackers can inject arbitrary web scripts that execute when a user performs certain actions, such as clicking on a maliciously crafted link. The vulnerability poses a significant risk, as it allows attackers to steal sensitive information or take control of users' sessions. To mitigate the risk, users are advised to update their plugin to the latest version or consider disabling the plugin until a patch is released.
