Summary

CVE-2024-0691 is a Stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the FileBird plugin for WordPress. This issue, present in all versions up to 5.5.8.1, stems from insufficient input sanitization and output escaping in the handling of imported folder titles. Malicious scripts can be injected by authenticated attackers with administrator access, leading to the execution of arbitrary code whenever a user accesses a manipulated page. Furthermore, there is a potential risk for social engineering attacks, encouraging administrators to upload malicious folder imports.
