Summary
CVE-2024-0565 is a newly discovered vulnerability affecting the SMB Client sub-component in the Linux Kernel. Specifically, an out-of-bounds memory read flaw was identified in the function "receive_encrypted_standard" located in "fs/smb/client/smb2ops.c". This vulnerability arises due to an integer underflow issue within the memcpy length calculation, resulting in unintended memory access.
