Summary

CVE-2024-0409 is a recently discovered vulnerability affecting the X.Org server. The issue lies within the cursor code used in both Xephyr and Xwayland. Instead of using the correct type for the cursor as private, the code employs the cursor bits type. As a result, when initiating the cursor, this error leads to the overwriting of the XSELINUX context. This could potentially allow an attacker to bypass security restrictions and gain unauthorized access to system resources.
