Summary
CVE-2024-0378 is a stored Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability affecting the "AI Engine: Chatbots, Generators, Assistants, GPT 4 and more!" plugin for WordPress. The issue lies in the lack of proper input sanitization and output escaping for AI chat data when discussion tracking is enabled. This shortcoming allows unauthenticated attackers to inject malicious web scripts into pages, which will then execute when a user accesses an injected page. Versions up to and including 2.2.0 of the plugin are susceptible to this vulnerability.
