Summary

CVE-2024-0338 is a newly disclosed buffer overflow vulnerability that affects XAMPP versions 8.2.4 and older. Malicious actors can exploit this weakness by sending a specially crafted debug argument to overload the Structured Exception Handler (SEH) buffer. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary code, potentially leading to system compromise. Users are urged to update XAMPP to the latest version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
